Position Overview:
The Spice House is seeking enthusiastic Spice Merchants (Retail Sales Associates) who possess a passion for food and cooking, along with the ability to convey this enthusiasm to our customers. The ideal candidate will have prior retail experience and exceptional customer service skills. Employees will be scheduled for 2-4 shifts per week, within the hours of 9 AM to 6 PM, including weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service in a specialty food retail setting.
  • Greet customers warmly and assist them throughout their shopping experience.
  • Establish rapport through engaging conversations and provide honest recommendations based on customer preferences and needs.
  • Process customer orders using our POS and web pickup systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor as directed by management.
  • Support the upkeep of the back stock area and assist in setting up merchandise displays on the sales floor.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of retail experience or related experience preferred.
  • Friendly and outgoing personality with a strong dedication to customer service.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively when engaging with customers and making sales.
  • Calm and professional demeanor with problem-solving capabilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work weekends.
  • Able to work between 8-20 hours per week, with varying shifts from 9 AM to 6 PM, including weekends.
  • A genuine passion for food and flavor is essential.
