Job Summary:

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Technical Specialist - Rock Tools to provide quality technical support and develop the technical competencies of customers and internal personnel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Deliver technical training to the service network on proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting practices.
    • Provide technical support to end users, operators, and service personnel in cases of complex technical issues.
    • Offer relevant feedback to factories to enable improvements to the equipment or its operation.
    • Assist in compiling accurate data to process warranty claims and rock tool improvements.
    • Investigate warranty claims proactively and reactively to enhance customer satisfaction and provide feedback to the respective factories.
    • Assist factories with field-testing and trials of new products and updated components to ensure proper and safe operation.
    • Perform rock tool demonstrations in a safe manner.
    • Assist in the training of distributors.
  • Customer Service:
    • Provide on-site technical assistance to resolve issues.
    • Assist customers with parts interpretations and recommended stock holdings.
    • Develop customer relationships to ensure customers have a positive experience and remain loyal to the Sandvik brand.
  • Safety and Environment:
    • Comply with Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology safety policies and applicable government, customer, or industry regulations or requirements.
    • Identify and report any unsafe work habits.
    • Strive to find safer ways for customers to work with Sandvik's products.
    Requirements:
    • A self-directed and collaborative individual with strong investigative, diagnostic, and technical skills.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • A two-year Technical/Engineering Degree in a mechanical/mining discipline.
    • Five years of Technical & Training experience.
    • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a team environment.
    • Computer and listening skills are essential.
    • Knowledge of foreign languages, such as Spanish or French, is a plus.
    • This role will require travel and the ability to work a flexible schedule.
