Position Overview

AMIkids Sandoval, Inc. operates a comprehensive multi-service group home that provides critical transitional living and support services for young males aged 13-18 who have been referred by various protective services due to issues such as abuse, neglect, delinquency, or substance use.

Role Summary:

The Senior Youth Counselor is tasked with ensuring that the unique clinical requirements of each youth in the assigned programs are effectively addressed. This includes overseeing the delivery of therapeutic services through the formulation, execution, and supervision of specialized interventions, which encompass screening, assessment, treatment planning, therapy, crisis management, and referrals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clinical services while integrating the Personal Growth Model and Evidence-Based Practices.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clinical needs for each youth in the program and facilitate referrals to qualified providers.
  • Develop and ensure timely completion of individualized treatment plans that comply with regulatory and contractual standards.
  • Maintain an active case load of youth, fostering supportive relationships and effectively communicating progress with relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide individual, group, family, and crisis counseling services.
  • Facilitate psycho-educational sessions, delinquency interventions, and clinical services utilizing Evidence-Based treatments.
  • Engage actively in treatment team discussions.
  • Employ innovative problem-solving techniques and creative therapeutic approaches to meet the diverse needs of youth.
  • Adhere to professional conduct ethics and uphold the values of AMIkids.
  • Ensure timely submission and confidentiality of all required reports and documentation.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain all necessary certifications and licenses.
  • Complete crisis intervention and physical restraint training as mandated by state and contractual obligations.
  • Maintain CPR and First Aid certification through a nationally recognized organization.
  • Assist with special projects and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related counseling field is required.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth is preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic documentation systems is advantageous.

State-Specific Credentials:

New Mexico:

  • Must possess a Licensed Mental Health Clinician (LMHC), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or Licensed Professional Art Therapist (LPAT) credential (Provisional License Accepted).
  • Must obtain and maintain a National Provider Identifier and Medicaid provider enrollment.
