Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heating and Air Conditioning Mechanic II to join our team in Baltimore County, MD. As a key member of our Property Management department, you will be responsible for performing journeyman-level installation, repair, service, and maintenance of heating, air conditioning, refrigerating, and ventilating equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs journeyman-level installation, maintenance, service, and repair to heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigerating equipment, including window and package units, freezers, water coolers, remote controls, pumps, compressors, condensers, and related parts and assemblies.
  • Lays out projects, evaluates and tests equipment and component operation, and determines method of repair.
  • Leads or instructs lesser skilled workers and monitors activities of contractors.
  • Inspects work both in progress and upon completion to assure quality and conformance to standards.
  • Maintains cost and operational records as required and prepares lists of parts and supplies to be requisitioned for assigned jobs.
  • Drives an automobile or light truck to transport workers and equipment to and from job sites.
Requirements
  • Four years' experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, air conditioning, refrigerating, and ventilating equipment.
  • At least two years of which included commercial and/or industrial units.
  • Related education may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required experience.
  • Possession of Type I and Type II E.P.A.-approved refrigerant certification for technicians.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license equivalent to a noncommercial, class C Maryland driver's license.
Working Conditions

The work of this classification entails performance of heavy physical labor including bending, stooping, climbing ladders, lifting and carrying very heavy objects, and the operation of motor vehicles, and hand and power tools. Some work requires exposure to potentially hazardous conditions such as adverse weather and electricity.
