Position Title: Equipment Maintenance Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Equipment Maintenance Specialist is crucial in ensuring the upkeep and repair of our machinery, facilitating safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in various areas, including Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical, Pneumatic systems, Troubleshooting, Fabrication, and light machining. This role requires a knowledgeable, diligent, and skilled individual with a strong focus on safety.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize safety equipment and adhere to safe work practices while operating tools and machinery.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical and mechanical systems for concrete masonry plant equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics accurately.
  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks as necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Safely operate various mobile equipment, including forklifts and man lifts, as required during maintenance activities.
  • Plan and execute work efficiently, maintaining accurate records of tasks and materials utilized.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on all equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Identify and report any hazardous conditions to ensure the safety of all personnel.
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance and production teams to enhance quality and productivity.
  • Quickly diagnose issues during equipment breakdowns and apply troubleshooting skills to restore functionality.
  • Perform maintenance on buildings and grounds as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Proficient in welding and fabrication techniques.
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical principles and maintenance methods.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations related to mechanical and electrical work.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, testing equipment, and safely installing new components.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals, applying this knowledge in safe practices.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Availability to respond to emergency situations outside of regular hours.
  • Willingness to work extended hours to meet production needs.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Work may be conducted in various weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Capable of operating heavy machinery and equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physical activities include walking, sitting, bending, and lifting up to 90 pounds.
  • Ability to work at heights using ladders and aerial lifts.
