Key Responsibilities

  • Independently set up and operate various machining equipment, including Vertical Turret Lathes, Drill Presses, and Surface Grinders.
  • Perform complete machine setups and make necessary adjustments to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on the machinery.
  • Calculate and adjust controls to manage machining parameters such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and cutting depth and angle.
  • Verify that finished workpieces conform to specifications and maintain tolerances within +/- .005 to .010.
  • Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience in a job shop or repair environment.
  • Proficient in lathe operations and possess strong mechanical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, control plans, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances.
  • Skilled in creating jigs and fixtures for unconventional repairs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of machining practices, measurement techniques, and tooling applications.
  • Strong attention to detail.
