JOB SUMMARY

This role entails overseeing the financial forecasting and reporting for a multi-site region within the organization. The individual will be tasked with delivering insights and analyses of financial performance, identifying trends, and providing recommendations aimed at enhancing profitability, particularly in the realm of operational expense management and inventory shrinkage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze the primary factors contributing to variances in operational expenses compared to plans and previous years.
  • Identify underperforming accounts and propose strategies to enhance profitability.
  • Deliver detailed analyses regarding the key drivers of operational expense variances.
  • Engage in the recruitment, training, and management of the Inventory Control Manager.
  • Support the recruitment, training, and management of finance associates and cashiers.
  • Collaborate with the Inventory team to pinpoint opportunities for reducing both operational and non-operational shrink.
  • Assess the financial implications of key initiatives aimed at controlling operational costs.
  • Work alongside the Region Vice President of Finance to lead the shrink committee at both site and regional levels.
  • Assist the Region Vice President of Finance and Market Vice President of Finance with monthly performance forecasting.
  • Ensure that overall trends and the effects of key initiatives are accurately represented in the forecasts.
  • Coordinate with each department to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the overall forecast and the impact of their respective initiatives.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Annual Profit Plan (AOP) concerning operational expenses and initiatives.
  • Act as a champion and local expert in Sysco's analytical tools.
  • Oversee the preparation of all capital investment proposals for the region.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or Economics is required.
  • An MBA is preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis and/or accounting is required.
  • Prior experience in a managerial role is preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS

  • None required.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Capability to analyze data and derive logical conclusions and recommendations.
  • Ability to lead and manage clerical staff effectively.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Word and Excel.
