Job Overview

Columbus Technical College is in search of a qualified individual to fulfill the role of an adjunct instructor within our Barbering Department. The selected candidate will be tasked with delivering instruction across various aspects of barbering, including haircutting, styling, skin care, scalp treatments, facials, and shaving techniques. This role also encompasses the preparation of lesson plans for both classroom and practical lab instruction, alongside general oversight of student activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive instruction in all facets of barbering.
  • Adhere to state standards while developing program outlines, objectives, and goals.
  • Assess student progress in achieving educational objectives.
  • Manage and maintain necessary supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Formulate effective teaching methodologies and maintain appropriate management procedures and documentation.
  • Engage with students, staff, and fellow educators to discuss instructional programs and address issues affecting student progress.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols in training environments.
  • Support recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives.
  • Maintain program certification standards as required.
  • Exhibit strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Utilize keen observation and evaluation skills.
  • Possess general computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Exhibit excellent work ethics and customer service skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • State of Georgia Master Barbering License.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of recent practical experience as a Barber or Barber Instructor.
  • Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Georgia State Master Barber License.
  • A degree from an accredited institution.

Compensation:

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
