Landscape Designer Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Landscape Designer to join our team at McHale Landscape Design, Inc. As an Assistant Landscape Designer, you will play a key role in the design process and implementation of residential projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site analysis, including field measurements, plant identification, and laser level recordings.
  • Prepare base maps, designs, as-builts, and construction details using CAD-based software.
  • Take photographs of sites and create 3D models using Sketch-up and Lumion.
  • Develop landscape and construction plans for field use.
  • Perform take-offs, prepare cost estimates, and develop budget cost analyses.
  • Collaborate with professionals and assist in the permit process.
  • Correspond with clients during the design and installation process.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and manage subcontractor agreements.
  • Participate in design presentations and sales meetings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Industry or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in the landscape industry.
  • Residential landscape experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with time management and organizational skills.
