The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the program, including recruitment, team management, budgeting, and community outreach.
Key Responsibilities- Program Management
- Develop and manage the annual operating budget for the eSports program.
- Oversee the creation of the annual competition schedule and organize all team on-campus events and logistics for travel to off-campus competitions.
- Manage the procurement and distribution of necessary equipment and uniforms for team training sessions and competitions.
- Ensure compliance with all department and governing board policy guidelines.
- Student-Athlete Recruitment
- Build relationships with local, regional, and national high school, junior college, and club programs and coaches to identify prospective student-athletes.
- Travel to engage in prospective student fairs, interest forums, and evaluate prospective student-athletes at competitions.
- Facilitate campus visits for prospective students and develop ongoing dialogue to lead to their eventual enrollment.
- Student-Athlete Engagement
- Oversee the academic progress of student-athletes within the program.
- Assist students with issues that can be barriers to retention and eventual graduation.
- Develop programming that builds character in areas outside of the athletic arena to provide a well-rounded college experience.
- Community Engagement
- Build relationships with internal and external constituencies to support enrollment initiatives, aid in student success, and increase knowledge of eSports.
- Work with departments across campus to engage eSports with other academic and student life initiatives.
- Education
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in leadership roles, preferably in eSports or a related field.
- Skills
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of constituencies, including department leadership, students, parents, staff, and faculty.
- Capacity to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
