About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Account Registrar to join our team at Suburban Community Hospital. As a Patient Account Registrar, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital's patient registration process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview patients or their representatives to obtain demographic information and secure insurance details, eligibility, benefits, and authorizations as necessary.
  • Work closely with the Admitting department, including the PBX operator function and reception areas, to ensure seamless communication and data exchange.
  • Operate a computer to input and retrieve data, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively with patients of all ages, utilizing age-specific techniques to ensure understanding and satisfaction.
  • Maintain proficiency in medical terminology and stay up-to-date with changes in healthcare regulations and policies.
Requirements
  • Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a customer service focus.
  • High School Graduate or GED Equivalent is required.
