Job Title:

Certified Surgical Tech - Cardiothoracic

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Surgical Tech - Cardiothoracic to join our team at Healthcare Staffing Plus. As a Certified Surgical Tech - Cardiothoracic, you will be responsible for preparing sterile operating rooms for surgeries, sterilizing equipment and instruments, and stocking adequate supplies for surgery.

Responsibilities:
  • Preparing sterile operating rooms for surgeries
  • Sterilizing equipment and instruments
  • Stocking adequate supplies for surgery
  • Preparing patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites
  • Providing support during surgery by passing instruments and other supplies
  • Tracking surgical supplies
  • Staying up-to-date on surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures
  • Working well with surgeons, surgical assistant, nurses and general surgical team
  • Helping provide great patient care
Requirements:
  • BLS and ACLS
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • The ability to stand for extended periods
  • Strong technical skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Requires a minimum of two years of current Surgical Tech Cardiothoracic experience
  • Graduate from a fully accredited Certified Surgical Tech program
  • Active unencumbered Tennessee Surgical Tech state license
  • One year of Epic experience

  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise
  • A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital
  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks
