Chicago, Illinois, United States United Benefit Advisors Full time
Position Overview

Are you an experienced account manager in the employee benefits sector seeking to enhance your impact? Do you possess a keen eye for detail and excel at fostering and nurturing client relationships?

The Employee Benefits Partnership Manager serves as the primary point of contact for UBA Partner Firms, facilitating their engagement with the extensive programs and resources offered by UBA. This role involves collaborating with internal teams and committees to deliver training sessions—both virtually and in-person—for new Partner Firms, creating a comprehensive library of support materials, monitoring the participation of UBA firms in various initiatives, and providing regular updates to committees and the UBA Board.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the UBA corporate team representative for the Partner Engagement Committee, which includes employee benefits advisors from each of UBA's nine regions.
    • Assist Committee members in developing effective agendas for monthly regional meetings.
    • Identify Partner Firms with lower engagement levels and collaborate with the Committee to enhance their involvement.
  • Facilitate onboarding sessions for all employee benefits personnel at Partner Firms regarding UBA's offerings.
    • Oversee a multi-month onboarding process, ensuring a positive experience for all new Partner Firms.
    • Stay updated on all UBA program changes and work closely with the Marketing team to keep the onboarding process relevant and impactful.
    • Create a training resource library accessible to Partner Firms as needed.
  • Conduct refresher onboarding sessions for Partner Firms with new staff or those needing additional training.
  • Gather, monitor, and report data on UBA Partner Firms' engagement in various UBA initiatives.
    • Manage the Awards program in collaboration with the Marketing team.
  • Lead a biannual outreach program for UBA Corporate Team members to connect with specific Partner Firms, understanding their needs and promoting new or special programs of interest.
    • Ensure follow-up for Partner Firms requiring immediate support.
    • Compile summaries of insights and recommended actions for future engagement.
    • Collect and share suggestions for educational content at conferences and training sessions, particularly when a Partner Firm has a unique success story that could benefit others.
  • May take the lead in supporting one or two Collaboration Groups that convene virtually and in-person throughout the year to discuss strategies, solutions, and challenges in specific areas.
  • Become proficient in UBA's benchmarking tool, assisting team members, Survey Committee members, and Partner Firms in maximizing the value derived from benchmarking data.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and provide recommendations to team members and committees regarding potential opportunities or product providers that could benefit UBA Partner Firms and their clients.
  • As part of a small Corporate Team, additional tasks or projects may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years' experience in the employee benefits field, preferably within a brokerage or insurance environment.
  • Active Life and Health license is preferred.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and effective time management abilities.
  • Proficient in technology/software, with advanced skills in MS Office 365, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Self-driven with a desire to thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility in responsibilities and a strong sense of prioritization.
  • Proven customer service experience.
  • Excellent project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel to conferences 2-3 times annually, which may include evening and weekend commitments.
