Job Summary

Hamilton Health Care System is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will provide direct care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients who require critical care services.

Responsibilities
  • Provide and coordinate direct care to patients in the SICU, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Manage the care of assigned patients who present with life-threatening illnesses and/or diseases, utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills to make sound clinical decisions.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans, ensuring that patients receive high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices in critical care nursing, including the use of advanced life support techniques and technologies.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment, promoting a culture of safety, respect, and open communication among colleagues and patients.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program, with a BSN or MSN preferred.
  • Current Georgia RN licensure or a multi-state license meeting eNLC criteria, with the ability to obtain prior to beginning work as a RN.
  • 1+ year of recent CVICU RN experience, including open heart recovery, with critical care course/internship preferred.
  • Proficient in nursing skills as defined in the Law Governing the Practice of Nursing in Georgia, with special skills demonstrated through completion of critical care skills check-off.
Working Conditions

Works in a typical acute healthcare setting with pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients experiencing a wide range of medical and/or surgical problems. Required to work flexible schedules, including weekends, with the ability to stand and walk for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds, with corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions, with exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
