Job Title: Payroll Specialist

HTI Polymer, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payment of wages to all employees of the Company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process labor hours entered by employees, facilitate management review, and enter in accounting systems for payroll distribution
  • Process payroll for weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and ad-hoc bonus, commission or tax distribution payments (as needed)
  • Process union payroll, taxes and garnishments weekly
  • Maintain PTO calculations and balances, report to employees and accounting
  • Process payroll taxes in line with each payroll run, ensure timely remittance of filings and payment to proper authority
  • Prepare and distribute W2s to all employees annually
  • Maintain, record and process payroll garnishments
  • Reconciliation of payroll related general ledger accounts including, but not limited to: FUTA, FWH, FICA, SWH, UI/SDI, Accrued wages and PTO
  • Onboard new employees and update changes to current employees within accounting and payroll software for accurate payroll processing
  • Own and maintain licenses, certification, filings and relationships with labor unions
  • Ongoing maintenance of tax rates and municipalities in accounting software
  • Ongoing maintenance of prevailing wage requirements for jobsite locations in accounting software
  • Ongoing maintenance of insurance and fringe benefit deductions in accounting software for all employee profiles
  • Partnership with Controller and Project Managers on maintenance of labor rates for project estimates
  • Special projects
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • 5 years payroll experience required; construction experience preferred
  • Experience with unions and prevailing wages highly desired
  • College degree in business/accounting or similar experience desired. 5 years of on the job experience acceptable in lieu of college degree
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft suite of programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Excel at operating in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background check
  • Authorized to work in the United States. HTI uses E-Verify
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Competitive Wage – DOE $70,000-$80,000 per year, non-exempt position
