Role Overview:
  • Expert in designing and executing cloud-based solutions such as Software as a Service (SaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) within AWS environments.
  • Constructs cloud infrastructure, encompassing Compute, Storage, Networking, Backup, Disaster Recovery, and Monitoring solutions.
  • Works alongside diverse teams including development, cloud security, compliance, automation, and infrastructure to deliver comprehensive multi-cloud services.
  • Engages in the scaling of production systems and technologies, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and best practices in DevOps.
  • Promotes cloud security protocols and enforces industry best practices.
  • Collaborates on incident management to ensure rapid service restoration.
  • Provides support through an on-call rotation, ensuring the availability, latency, and performance of cloud environments.
  • Participates in post-incident reviews and develops troubleshooting runbooks/playbooks.
  • Ensures compliance with architectural and design standards, offering evening and weekend support as necessary.
  • Develops innovative solutions and contributes to the design of GovCloud architecture and related initiatives.
Essential Qualifications:
  • A BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, coupled with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship is a prerequisite for this role, supporting Department of Defense initiatives.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Proficiency in system administration, cloud infrastructure development, AWS services, and automation technologies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of AWS networking principles, cloud databases, and cloud security measures.
  • AWS Cloud certifications are advantageous, along with experience in extensive environments utilizing configuration management tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
