About the Role:



We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated High School Chemistry Professor to join our team at Springfield Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching chemistry to high school students, developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, and assessing student progress.



Responsibilities:




  • Teach chemistry to high school students, promoting a love of learning and a deep understanding of the subject matter
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
  • Assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their full potential
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and performance
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of all students
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in teaching and learning


Requirements:




  • Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field
  • Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education certification in Chemistry and high school grade level licensure
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience in chemistry at the high school level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment
