Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Instrument Technician to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our Sterile Processing department, you will be responsible for preparing and sterilizing surgical instruments, ensuring they are in optimal condition for use in operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, including cleaning, packaging, and labeling
  • Inventory and maintain surgical instruments, ensuring they are in good working condition
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure instruments are available and ready for use
  • Follow established protocols for sterilization and instrument preparation

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; surgical tech certificate preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience working with medical supplies, surgical instruments, and sterilization equipment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Able to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
