About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Instrument Technician to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our Sterile Processing department, you will be responsible for preparing and sterilizing surgical instruments, ensuring they are in optimal condition for use in the operating room.

Your primary focus will be on cleaning, preparing, and sterilizing instruments, as well as maintaining inventory and ensuring the smooth operation of the instrumentation. You will work closely with our Lead Sterile Processing Technician and Perioperative Services Director to ensure the highest standards of quality and patient care.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong understanding of aseptic techniques, tray design, and sterile procedures. You will also need to have extensive knowledge of medical supplies, equipment, and surgical instrumentation. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and 1-2 years of experience working with medical supplies, surgical instruments, and sterilization equipment is highly desirable.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
