Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Medical Technologist to join our team at HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for fostering an environment of teamwork, quality, and safety for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of departmental specific problems/complaints from physicians, patients, and their families, nursing, and other laboratory or hospital personnel.
  • Perform clinical laboratory testing in all/or designated areas and review daily reports.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure quality assurance deliverables.
  • Provide department-specific guidance and training to medical laboratory technicians, technologists, and/or nursing staff.
  • Ensure major automated equipment is operational by performing required maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting procedures daily, or as needed.
  • Ensure adequate supply levels for the assigned section and/or department.
  • Perform laboratory testing as necessary, participate in bi-annual CAP inspections, and communicate to Laboratory Management all issues concerning the functioning of the laboratory.
Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in a Chemical, Physical, Biological or Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science (MT/CLS) from an accredited institution.
  • Or be qualified under CLIA guidelines for MT/CLS.
  • ASCP certification required.
  • 3 year Medical Technologist clinical experience preferred.
