Job Title: Human Resources Business Partner

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our dynamic team at the New York City Economic Development Corporation. As a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for providing strategic support and guidance to internal client groups in the areas of employee relations and performance management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build effective partnerships with management and staff to foster a high-performing and engaged culture.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with leadership to understand business objectives and provide guidance on employee relations and performance management.
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues, including conducting investigations and ensuring fair and timely resolutions.
  • Educate and coach managers on performance management and employee development goals.
  • Lead core HR processes across employee lifecycles, including onboarding and offboarding, to provide a seamless experience.
  • Analyze and interpret employee reports to guide decision-making and provide proactive solutions.
  • Oversee the management, tracking, and updating of HR policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate across all HR functions to support organizational objectives and confirm alignment with DEIA objectives.
  • Execute company-wide annual HR programs and initiatives, including presentation development and writing communications.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, with a focus on policy management and compliance.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Practical experience and knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven analytic and quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
