About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Construction Coordinator Student Intern to join our team at Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC). As a key member of our organization, you will provide support to our Construction Coordinator team and assist with various tasks related to construction work activities and projects.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Area Project Construction Manager (APCM) with work planning, scheduling, estimating, safety, quality, and technical field support.
  • Perform meaningful work in support of the SRMC organization, contributing to the closure of waste tanks, operation of the Savannah River Site's Defense Waste Processing Facility, and associated production and disposal facilities.
  • Collaborate with the SRMC team to ensure the successful completion of construction projects and activities.
Requirements
  • Enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited four-year university, pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Math, Chemistry, or MBA in Project Management.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above.
  • Pass General Employment Training (GET) and Drug and Alcohol Testing (DAT) before starting work at Savannah River Site.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Students currently enrolled at the University of South Carolina Aiken and connected through the Veteran Center for Student Success are encouraged to apply.

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is a prime contractor for the US Department of Energy, responsible for managing the Department of Energy's Savannah River Site's Liquid Waste operations contract. Located in Aiken, South Carolina, SRMC is a limited liability company formed by nuclear operations and environmental remediation global leaders BWXT, Amentum, and Fluor.
