We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Republic Services, Inc. as a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for performing repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a working knowledge of, and moderate skill proficiency in, vehicle components and systems, including chassis components, refuse bodies, engine repair, suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems.
- Perform preventative and repair maintenance functions, both on-site and on the road.
- Identify the source of malfunctions using electronic tools and complete applicable company training programs.
- Provide road service when necessary to ensure that company equipment is returned to operation in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a technician position demonstrating knowledge of both gasoline and diesel powered equipment diagnosis and repair.
- Ability to perform basic inspections with limited supervision in heavy truck or automotive systems, including suspensions & steering, general engine, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drive train, and diesel emissions.
- Valid Driver's License.
