Position Summary:
Bartenders are pivotal in delivering exceptional guest service, which is fundamental to Eddie Merlot's mission. With comprehensive knowledge of beverage and menu selections, Bartenders prepare and serve drinks for both the lounge and dining areas, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards. Additionally, Bartenders manage check totals and ensure their workspace is maintained in a clean and organized manner, while complying with all sanitation, food handling, and liquor regulations. They collaborate with Servers, Bussers, and other team members to guarantee that every guest experiences outstanding service and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete and pass all required training modules for Bartenders and Servers, both initially and ongoing.
  • Be aware of your work schedule for the week, arrive punctually, and adhere to uniform and professional appearance standards.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of beverage and menu offerings, following established recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with Managers and Hosts regarding reservations, guest flow, large parties, or special event requirements.
  • Ensure the bar area is clean and well-stocked, and that the lounge is properly set up for guests. Complete the opening duties checklist.
  • Welcome guests as they arrive at the bar and take beverage orders, ensuring exceptional service for lounge patrons.
  • Assist guests in navigating the menu and ordering process, addressing inquiries, and following menu merchandising procedures by listening, explaining specials, suggesting items, and up-selling.
  • Adhere to standard procedures for accurately taking and inputting food orders, serving appetizers and menu items accordingly.
  • Follow up with guests to confirm satisfaction with beverages and food.
  • Know and adhere to established drink recipes and presentation specifications, ensuring accurate pouring and portion control.
  • Prepare drinks for Dining Room guests and place them in the service bar area.
  • Follow established procedures for check presentation, payment, and tip-reporting.
  • Thank guests for their patronage as they leave and invite them to return.
  • Maintain cleanliness, stock, and organization of the bar throughout the shift, performing side duties, closing duties, and other tasks as assigned by the Manager(s).
  • Handle phone inquiries from guests for 'To Go' orders.
  • Support Platinum Club service and promote membership.
  • Communicate guest requests or complaints, out-of-stock items, and suggestions for improvement to Managers.
  • May be scheduled for meetings, banquets, and special events.
  • Foster a positive team environment by assisting fellow team members with their duties and side work as needed.
  • Adhere to Eddie Merlot's policies, procedures, standards, and performance expectations, as well as all applicable laws and regulations related to liquor, food handling, sanitation, and safety at all times.

Qualifications and Requirements:
? Minimum of two years' experience as a Bartender, preferably in a fine dining environment.
? Must be at least 21 years of age.
? High school diploma or GED preferred.
? Proficient in reading and communicating in English clearly and effectively.
? Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
? Possess a state license to serve alcohol and understand state/local liquor regulations.
? Extensive knowledge of alcoholic beverages and mixed drinks.
? Manual dexterity and ability to multitask.
? Strong professional communication and social skills suitable for guest interaction.
? Self-motivated and able to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
? Strong team-oriented mindset, well-organized, and able to take direction from others.
? Basic math and computer skills required.
? Availability to work a flexible, part-time schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Lunch-time serving hours may be required during certain seasons, holidays, or special events. Work days and hours will vary based on business needs.
