Electric Line Technician Job Description

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a skilled Electric Line Technician to join our team at Bowlin Group. As an Electric Line Technician, you will be responsible for performing skilled work and assisting other line technicians in the construction, repair, and maintenance of electric distribution and transmission lines.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Perform all duties required of a Line Technician "B"
* Interpret and carry out instructions outlined on construction drawings and blueprints pertaining to line construction, maintenance, and removal
* Perform all types of construction, removal, operation, maintenance, and repair work on all types and voltages of energized and de-energized lines
* Phase out and parallel primary or secondary circuits and power and lighting transformers
* Install, remove, operate, maintain, and repair all wire, cables, conductors, transformers, regulators, capacitors, re-closer, switches, cutouts, lightning arrestors, insulators, clamps, poles, anchors, guys, pole line hardware, and all other devices that are a part of, and necessary to the operation of, the transmission and distribution system

**Requirements**

* Knowledge of and adherence to all safety rules, procedures, and practices
* Ability to assist and/or direct the training of other employees in the correct operating procedures necessary to fully satisfy the classification duties of Line Technician "A" and all lower classifications within the subject line of progression or other duties with which the employee is familiar
* Ability to report to assigned locations for the purpose of receiving training and actively participate in training activities
* Ability to demonstrate an adequate competency level pertaining to activities delineated in the Duties and Qualifications sections of this job classification
* Ability to watch for and promptly report to supervision any damaged or defective equipment or conditions which may cause damage or injury
* Ability to perform duties of lower or higher classifications that are incidental to the job and are within his/her capabilities, including those needed for the purpose of training in the requirements of the higher classifications
* Ability to keep all equipment, tools, materials, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition
* Ability to report as directed to any facility for any shift where needed
* Ability to perform work in a responsible and cooperative manner to facilitate a positive working environment
* Ability to represent the Company to the community with attention to the highest standard of conduct, appearance, and attitude
