Critical Care Nurse

Boston Medical Center is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care team in the Surgical Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (SNICU).
This 28-bed unit provides post-operative care to our most complex patients, including those with trauma, neurology, cardiac surgical, vascular surgery, and general surgery conditions.
As a Critical Care Nurse in the SNICU, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care, utilizing our patient-centered care model and working collaboratively with a supportive nursing organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and their families to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues, promoting a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Update and manage patient records, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Enter and interpret computerized data/information, utilizing our electronic health record system.
- Follow established guidelines and policies, promoting a culture of quality and safety.
- Participate in quality improvement projects, contributing to the advancement of our nursing practice.
Requirements:
- Active or pending Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license or the ability to obtain one.
- 1+ years of RN experience preferred.
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) required in certain units.
- Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred), with the ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
- Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty certification required for certain practice areas.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Fluency in another language a plus.
