Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Formulate and execute a comprehensive strategy for soliciting significant contributions ($10,000+) while enhancing engagement with high-profile donors and prospects.
  • Design engagement initiatives and upgrade tactics aimed at base and mid-level contributors.
  • Craft donor communication and engagement strategies tailored to donor preferences and behaviors.

Relationship Development:

  • Foster enduring relationships with a portfolio of existing donors, while cultivating a pipeline of potential contributors and soliciting donations through various channels.
  • Collaborate with NWS Trustees and other stakeholders to identify, nurture, and solicit potential donors.
  • Establish and maintain robust collaborative relationships with colleagues in the Institutional Advancement department and the broader NWS team.
  • Generate detailed portfolio reports and updates to provide the VP of Development and NWS leadership with accurate insights into activities and financial forecasts.
  • Participate in performances, donor cultivation events, and community activities, representing NWS and aiding in the development of new donor prospects.

Data-Driven Analysis:

  • Leverage NWS databases and analytics to guide fundraising strategies, objectives, and innovative approaches.
  • Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to utilize metrics for creating and testing customized solicitation strategies aligned with organizational goals and donor interests.
  • Attend industry-related events to remain informed about emerging trends in fundraising and philanthropy.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree coupled with a minimum of three to five years of experience in securing mid- and major-level contributions; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional collaborative, communicative, and transparent approach, with the ability to cultivate strong internal and external relationships.
  • Proficient in managing strategic donor relationships.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and function efficiently under deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with donor management systems; familiarity with Tessitura is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
