Position Overview

Role Summary

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the calibration, maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of sophisticated computer-controlled servo-hydraulic and electro-mechanical testing systems at various client sites. Utilize your expertise in aviation mechanics, hydraulics, and electronics to contribute effectively. Familiarity with equipment calibration is advantageous.

Note: US Citizenship is mandatory for roles in regulated environments.

This position requires approximately 70% travel, including occasional overnight assignments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee customer relationships and business operations to ensure high levels of satisfaction and efficiency.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment issues across system components.
  • Conduct necessary calibrations independently for designated clients.
  • Coordinate installation and upkeep activities.
  • Adhere to MTS quality system protocols.
  • Assist in service sales initiatives and maintain accurate service records.
  • Manage company resources in accordance with established policies.
  • Stay informed about MTS technologies and product offerings.
  • Undertake additional tasks and projects as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

  • Understanding of PID Controllers (preferred)
  • Ability to troubleshoot at the board level (required)
  • Experience with Hydraulics and Pneumatics
  • Capability to read and interpret Blueprints and Schematics
  • Willingness to travel extensively
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and appropriate insurance
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Exemplary personal discipline and problem-solving aptitude
  • Experience in customer service

Educational Background and Experience

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an Associate degree (Vocational/Technical) or equivalent military training with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
