Position Overview:
The Accountant plays a crucial role in managing general accounting tasks. This includes the preparation of journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers, as well as performing account and bank reconciliations in line with GAAP and company policies. The position is an individual contributor role that reports to the Regional Accounting Manager and collaborates regularly with regional operations and in-country finance teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage intercompany agreements, including invoicing.
  • Prepare and load relevant monthly accrual journals into the accounting system.
  • Execute assigned journal entries, such as prepaid amortizations, cash postings, benefits, rent, leases, and intercompany billing.
  • Conduct monthly general ledger reconciliations, ensuring completion before cutoff, particularly for accounts receivable metrics, and provide explanations for significant variances.
  • Perform bank account reconciliations.
  • Review and post intercompany accounts payable and receivable.
  • Balance intercompany accounts.
  • Coordinate with local banks for fund transfers.
  • Assist in preparing quarterly schedules and reports.
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • Contribute to the annual business planning process.
  • Assist with ad-hoc and variance analysis reporting.
  • Adhere to deadlines established in the Financial Reporting Calendar and corporate-specific timelines.
  • Engage in additional analytics or accounting/finance projects as directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience in a recognized accounting role.
  • A minimum of 3 years of extensive experience in general accounting and/or auditing.
  • Familiarity with ERP accounting software (experience with MS Office, JD Edwards/SAP, or Oracle Cloud is advantageous).
  • Experience with consolidation software is a plus (Hyperion Financial Management and Hyperion Financial Planning).
  • Strong computer and analytical skills; intermediate proficiency in Excel.
  • Presentation skills (intermediate user of PowerPoint).
  • Experience in the energy and construction sectors is beneficial.
