Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team at The Hiring Group. As a Field Service Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our clients by delivering exceptional technical service and support to their customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service and support during field visits, aligning workflow with schedules for maximum efficiency.
  • Address customer needs through appropriate recommendations and the use of field automation systems, procedures, and protocols.
  • Perform field services for machinery and equipment, including adjustments, audits, installations, and follow-up operator training.
  • Document all installations, inspections, and repairs, and provide status reports on current and future projects.
  • Backup all software, programming, or configuration changes made during customer visits.
  • Collaborate with the Service Manager or supervisors to identify and address individual training needs for continuous skill and knowledge improvement.
  • Actively promote and sell parts and services to customers.
  • Manage customer relationships by exceeding expectations and representing the company with professionalism and alignment with company culture and values.
  • Conduct in-house, onsite, and telephone troubleshooting, repairs, and support as needed.
  • Respond to emergency service calls as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Willingness and capability to work overtime or travel on short notice, both domestically and internationally, up to 70% - 80%. Must have a valid driver's license and passport.
  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Mechatronics, Electronics, Industrial Technology, or Electrical Technology.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in equipment maintenance or a related field.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley, RSLogix, RSLinx, and Factory Talk.
  • Strong critical thinking skills for effective problem diagnosis and repair.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic software, networking, and operating system issues.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding electrical schematics.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, urgency, attention to detail, project management ability, and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong background in PLC, electrical troubleshooting, and knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic components.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs., bend, twist, stand, and/or walk for an entire 10–12-hour shift, and climb above floor level.
  • Preferred experience with troubleshooting and repairing accumulation and case packing equipment.
  • Genuine interest in assisting customers and solving their problems.
  • Strong work ethic, customer service orientation, and ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
