Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented UDS Specialist to join our team at Commonwealth Pain and Spine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in supporting healthcare professionals, ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practice, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize and store samples in accordance with safety and regulatory requirements to ensure personnel safety and sample integrity.
  • Label and safely store samples for shipping.
  • Determine and perform necessary tests.
  • Comfortably handle urine specimens as an essential job function.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work collection environment.
  • Package specimens for transport and ship to the lab.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
  • Perform triage, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, weight, and height, at each visit.
  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Communicate effectively within the healthcare team.
  • Enter and scan patient information and notes in EMR software.
  • Prepare evaluation and procedure rooms for patient encounters.
  • Clean evaluation and procedure rooms post-patient encounters.
  • Perform patient drug screening.
  • Perform other duties assigned, including tasks for affiliates, assigns, lessees, contractors, or other third parties.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Quickly and accurately type notes into EMR as the provider dictates.
  • Strong computer and phone skills.
  • Navigate multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner.
  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare regulatory and compliance policies, including HIPAA.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
  • EMR, KASPER, INSPECT knowledge and experience are preferred.
Travel Requirements:
  • Active, valid driver's license.
  • State minimum coverage vehicle insurance.
  • Must be able to pass a driving history/motor vehicle check upon hire and maintain an acceptable record thereafter.
  • Maintain status as an approved driver through the HR department, including submitting required documentation before expiration.
Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
