Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Street Department team as a Maintenance Worker. This role involves performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of streets, roads, and other public infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain medium-duty trucks and equipment, including power tools and manual labor equipment.
  • Assist in patching holes in streets and driveways, digging out holes and trenches, and filling depressions with slag, gravel, or other material.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as watering, trimming trees, shrubbery, and mowing grass.
  • Assist in painting crosswalks, installing and maintaining traffic and street signs.
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs to equipment.
  • Wash and lubricate vehicles used by the crew.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Texas CDL drivers license.
  • One-year experience in operating and servicing medium-duty trucks.
  • Principles of operating and servicing medium-duty trucks.
  • Traffic laws, ordinances, and regulations involved in operation of equipment.
  • Occupational hazards and proper safety precautions associated with equipment assigned.
  • Use of standard equipment and tools.
Working Conditions

The work involves operating medium equipment and unrestricted use of hands and fingers. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, City officials, and the public is essential.
