Job Summary

The City of Snyder is seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team. As a key member of our Street Department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and operation of our equipment and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain medium-duty trucks and equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Perform manual labor tasks, including digging, filling, and patching holes and trenches.
  • Assist in painting crosswalks, installing and maintaining traffic and street signs.
  • Operate power tools, such as power saws, mowers, and jackhammers.
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs to equipment.
  • Wash and lubricate vehicles used by the crew.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Texas CDL drivers license.
  • One year of experience in operating and servicing medium-duty trucks.
  • Principles of operating and servicing medium-duty trucks.
  • Traffic laws, ordinances, and regulations involved in equipment operation.
  • Occupational hazards and proper safety precautions.
  • Use of standard equipment and tools.

Working Conditions

  • Work involves operating medium equipment and unrestricted use of hands and fingers.
  • Must be able to climb and grease trucks as needed.
  • Must be able to bend and stoop for extended periods of time and reach above head.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 100 pounds.
