About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Systems Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our Payload and Ground Systems organization, you will play a critical role in developing and sustaining optimized product lines across the sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or other STEM-related degree with 14+ years of experience; 12 years with a Master's; 9 years with a PhD.
  • Active TS/SCI and willingness to sit for a polygraph.
  • Experience with Interface Control Document development.
  • Experience with JIRA.
  • Experience in gathering requirements, leading exercises or demonstrations.
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Maintain existing operations procedures up-to-date to also include lessons learned from real-time performance.
  • Develop new procedures as required.
  • Interface with program and customer personnel.
  • Hands-on experience developing and performing real-time executable mission plans.
  • Familiarity with Mission Operations Centers architectures and interfaces.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI with poly.
  • Detailed familiarity with space system operational documentation.
  • Mentor newer members of the operations team.
  • Experience working on Agile programs and methodology.
  • Understanding and implementation of Model Based Systems Engineering.
