Salary InformationThe estimated annual salary for this role is $200,000-$250,000, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
Job DescriptionWe're seeking an experienced Senior Investment Counsel to join our Office of the General Counsel in Newport Beach, CA. This role is on-site with a hybrid work mode, allowing you to work at our state-of-the-art headquarters while also enjoying remote work options.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze and advise Pacific Life Investments' private placement, project finance, and private debt teams regarding structure, covenant protections, and other investment terms.
- Negotiate and draft a broad range of investment-related agreements.
- Partner with internal stakeholders, including credit analysts and investment operations, on all aspects of transaction execution.
- Provide general corporate and regulatory advice to support Pacific Life Investments' business and operations.
- Collaborate with the Treasury team on advising, negotiating, and drafting agreements and disclosure documents for finance and liquidity transactions.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A license to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction.
- 6+ years of direct relevant experience at a law firm or a financial services organization.
- Working knowledge of securities laws, derivatives, and insurance regulations relating to investments.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and critical-thinking skills, as well as business acumen and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to analyze and recommend solutions to complex problems.
