Job Title: System Reliability Specialist

At PNC, we are committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences. As a System Reliability Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability and compliance of our technology systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and participate in the monitoring, maintenance, and support of systems and software to ensure stability and compliance to technology standards.
  • Perform maintenance tasks, including installation of patches and upgrades, and coordinate with delivery teams to ensure changes are implemented to maintain a stable production environment.
  • Identify and resolve incidents, analyze root causes, and report on design, reliability, maintenance problems, and bugs.
  • Monitor systems availability, performance, and capacity against baseline metrics and report trends.
  • Educate and coach junior staff to ensure in-depth knowledge of supported systems and applications.
  • Lead application governance, including required attestations, continuity testing, impact analysis, responding to audit/regulatory inquiries, and complying with technology standards.
Requirements:
  • University/college degree with 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Certifications are often desired.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
Competencies:
  • Analytical Thinking – Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis and the ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems.
  • Application Maintenance – Knowledge of and ability to define, implement changes to, and support a production application.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking – Understanding of the issues related to the decision-making process and ability to analyze situations fully and accurately.
  • IT Environment – Knowledge of an organization's IT purposes, activities, and standards and ability to create an effective IT environment for business operations.
