The Employees Retirement System is seeking a seasoned Enterprise Server Administrator with expertise in AIX and Linux systems. This role is integral to our Information Systems Division, focusing on the management and enhancement of our enterprise computing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, install, configure, and maintain infrastructure systems, including IBM Power/PowerVM and related software.
  • Administer and support platform systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
  • Implement and manage backup systems, ensuring data protection and recovery processes are in place.
  • Oversee monitoring systems to proactively address potential issues affecting system availability.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies to align with the agency's future computing needs.
  • Provide risk assessments and recommendations for system enhancements and integrations.
  • Document best practices and operational procedures to ensure compliance with agency standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution to safeguard business operations.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a degree in a relevant field and have a minimum of six years of experience in an enterprise technology environment, specifically with IBM Power and AIX systems. Experience with Linux systems and enterprise infrastructure management is preferred.
