POSITION OVERVIEW

The main goal of this role is to assess, examine, audit, and document materials, processes, and products utilizing both variable and attribute measurement tools and methodologies to ensure compliance with the relevant drawing specifications while upholding the quality standards of iNRCORE in alignment with the Quality Management System (QMS).

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: A two-year technical diploma or equivalent experience is mandatory.

EXPERIENCE: Proficiency in the setup and maintenance of electronic and/or mechanical testing apparatus, operating standard tools, and the capability to apply logical reasoning in problem analysis is essential.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Experience with electronic and mechanical testing devices is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and customer-provided blueprints, along with a foundational understanding of statistical methods.
  • Familiarity with military and industry standards is crucial.
  • Understanding of the PDCA cycle and team dynamics is necessary.
  • Capability to read and interpret technical drawings and knowledge of critical, major, and minor characteristics is expected.
  • General understanding of ASME Y14.5M, practical knowledge of GD&T, and comprehension of the x, y, and z coordinate systems are required.
  • Strong grasp of basic mathematical operations and measurement conversions; ability to solve for variables and perform calculations involving degrees, minutes, and seconds.
  • Basic knowledge of statistical principles applicable to sampling inspection and process characterization is needed.

SKILLS: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access). Must possess experience in utilizing Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, including macros and calculations, and have the capability to analyze, document, and present data clearly and accurately. Proficiency in performing relevant measurements with an understanding of measurement technology and terminology is required.

The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure a clean, safe, and healthy work environment by adhering to standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Utilize inspection planning and sampling methodologies to conduct product audits by determining necessary sample sizes for lots and selecting random samples.
  • Evaluate and approve incoming, in-process, and final materials, ensuring compliance with specifications, conducting mechanical measurement tests, and rejecting nonconforming materials.
  • Inspect in-process and/or finished products by validating specifications and drawings, performing visual and mechanical measurement testing, returning nonconforming products for rework, and verifying completed rework.
  • Document inspection outcomes by completing required reports and logs promptly while summarizing rework and scrap data, inputting information into the relevant database or ERP system.
  • Enter and analyze data, recognizing out-of-control conditions using fundamental statistical terminology and techniques.
  • Select appropriate measurement tools and techniques by distinguishing between accuracy and precision.
  • Identify and report inspection defects and testing errors; initiate corrective actions.
  • Recognize and report nonconforming materials.
  • Understand lot-level traceability based on product, processes, and raw materials.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and the organizational mission by achieving related objectives as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
