Job Title: Construction Manager

Under the general direction of the Tidal Network Director, the Construction Manager is responsible for the successful completion of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the overall administration and implementation of construction projects.
  • Participate in conceptual development of construction projects and work closely with Architects, Electrical engineers, Mechanical engineers, Civil engineers, customers, and other departments of the Tribe.
  • Attend design meetings, evaluate materials and products for constructability, and oversee preparation of estimates for conceptual, schematics, and design development stages.
  • Schedule projects in logical steps and budget time to meet deadlines.
  • Determine labor requirements and dispatch workers to construction sites.
  • Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients representing the owner or developer.
  • Obtain all necessary permits.
  • Direct and supervise team members in the office and on construction sites.
  • Develop or direct the development of operating and working procedures and standards aligned with organization objectives.
  • Oversee subcontractors.
  • Requisition supplies to complete the project.
  • Prepare and submit budget estimates, job progression, and cost tracking reports.
  • Develop and implement quality control programs.
  • Take action to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at the construction site.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
  • Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
  • Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
  • Evaluate construction means and methods to determine cost-effectiveness of plans.
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in a related field, such as project management or business administration.
  • Five years of professional experience managing projects and/or programs, including management of at least one construction project with multiple entities.
  • Substantial knowledge of all construction phases.
Working Conditions:

Work time will be split between office setting and construction sites. Time may be spent at a desk and walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items weighing up to 75 lbs. Work may be done in inclement weather. Travel on small aircraft or ferry may be required.
