Role Overview

The Retail Engagement Coordinator is responsible for implementing sales and marketing initiatives within selected grocery, mass/club, convenience, and liquor chain establishments. This position collaborates closely with local distributor sales representatives to strategize, design, and execute activities that enhance the sales performance of our spirits brands at retail locations. You will utilize third-party marketing agencies and internal resources to gather essential brand materials, ensuring a positive impact on the shopping experience for consumers and retailers alike.

Your performance will be guided by key metrics, focusing on in-store activities, sales growth, and market share improvements against competitors.

Key Responsibilities:

You will oversee the sales performance of our spirits brands within a designated group of retail outlets, selected for their strategic significance to consumers and customers. You will develop a service plan to nurture and expand these relationships in collaboration with sales representatives.

  • Engage with customers to strategize, design, and implement activities that drive sales growth, including:
  • Promoting products during peak sales periods in chosen outlets.
  • Creating eye-catching displays to attract and convert shoppers, utilizing approved brand materials to enhance visibility and messaging.
  • Monitoring stock levels to ensure product availability on shelves and in coolers.
  • Organizing in-store consumer experiences such as product demonstrations and educational events, aligned with national or local marketing strategies.
  • Ensuring promotional materials are current and adequately supplied.
  • Conducting regular outlet surveys using designated software and submitting findings promptly.
  • Providing feedback to sales representatives on opportunities and challenges within stores, recommending corrective actions as necessary.
  • Identifying promotional and display opportunities and proposing our spirits brands as effective solutions, executing these initiatives efficiently.
  • Your success will be measured by your ability to positively influence the performance of our spirits brands in the designated retail locations.

Performance Metrics:

  • Year-over-year sales performance and consumer engagement metrics.
  • Market share growth within relevant categories.
  • Frequency and effectiveness of promotional activities in-store.

The physical requirements of this role include:

  • Bending, squatting, and reaching.
  • Regular lifting and moving of products weighing 50 pounds or more.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred or equivalent experience in the consumer packaged goods sector.
  • A minimum of 5-6 years of experience in the beverage alcohol industry or hospitality, with at least two years in off-premise sales.
  • Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time, including extended driving periods, with flexibility in scheduling as activities require.
  • Familiarity with the chain retail landscape and understanding of local market dynamics.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory framework related to beverage alcohol.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • Demonstrated initiative in gathering customer feedback to identify market needs and challenges.
  • Self-motivated and capable of executing plans with minimal supervision.
  • Strong commitment to follow through on all responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with business information tools.
  • Ability to adapt to various internal systems and tools as needed.
  • Availability to travel as required, including potential overnight stays.
  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays as necessary.
  • The physical demands of this role include bending, squatting, and frequent lifting of heavy items.
