Job Overview:
Omni Hotels & Resorts is on the lookout for a Cafeteria Operations Manager to join our exceptional team at the stunning Barton Creek Resort & Spa.
Role Objective: To oversee food service operations, ensure the cleanliness of the associate cafeteria, and deliver quality service to our associates dining at Creekside Café.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise all cafeteria staff and associates under your management.
- Implement a hands-on approach to training and developing kitchen personnel.
- Instill and uphold required standards of sanitation and cleanliness.
- Maintain all refrigeration, service equipment, storage, and working areas in compliance with health department regulations.
- Possess a solid understanding of cooking fundamentals, including sauces, soups, salads, and various cooking techniques.
- Ensure the cafeteria's cleanliness and overall appearance.
- Oversee and prepare all food items according to hotel standards for quality, freshness, and health.
- Set up and maintain service stations and supply paper goods for the outlet.
- Post daily menus for the cafeteria.
- Ensure consistent adherence to quality, portion control, and presentation standards.
- Prep, stock, and rotate line products to maintain quality and adequate supply.
- Visually inspect and select all food served from the cafeteria.
- Draft and submit weekly schedules for hourly associates.
- Ensure proper hot/cold food temperatures are maintained.
- Assist the banquet chef in requisitioning and ordering food necessary for daily menu service.
- Guarantee that daily menus are fresh, healthy, and served correctly throughout the service period.
Qualifications:
- Ability to endure exposure to heat, steam, and hazardous cleaning agents.
- Capability to stand for the duration of the shift.
- Physical ability to walk, run, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Previous experience in a similar Food and Beverage department (kitchen, cafeteria, etc.) is required.
- Possession of a serve safe certificate is necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area at all times.
- Culinary education is preferred but not mandatory.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience is required.
- Demonstrate personal accountability for tasks and follow through to achieve desired outcomes.
- Ensure all work areas and equipment meet health department standards consistently.
- Ability to communicate orally in English at an intermediate level.
