Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cafeteria Attendant to join our culinary team at the Omni Austin Hotel Downtown. As a Cafeteria Attendant, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the cafeteria, preparing and serving high-quality food, and providing exceptional customer service to our guests.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the cafeteria, including restocking and replenishing food and supplies.
  • Prepare and serve food in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that all food meets our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Set up and maintain service stations, including arranging food and supplies in an attractive and appealing manner.
  • Visually inspect all food served out of the cafeteria to ensure that it meets our quality standards.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 6 months of food and beverage operations experience, preferably in a hotel environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced role.
  • Ability to work cohesively with coworkers both within and outside of your department.
  • Ability to work around a variety of chemicals and respond to hazardous situations.
  • Basic math skills to understand and implement recipes and measurements.
  • Good eye-hand coordination to use all kitchen equipment.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate knives, spatulas, tongs, etc.
  • Ability to stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
  • Requires frequent bending, reaching overhead, and squatting.
  • Lift, carry, and place objects weighing up to 30 pounds without assistance and a minimum of 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to stoop, grasp, move, or push goods on a hand cart weighing a maximum of 70 pounds.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
