Compensation: $25.00 per hour

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

This role is structured for a 10-month duration, with a two-month break during the summer. The working hours align with regular school timings, including occasional after-school and weekend responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a representative of Cardinal Point: Arrive punctually, maintain a professional appearance in uniform, and engage consistently.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students.
  • Manage incidents and employ de-escalation techniques.
  • Ensure smooth movement of individuals in hallways.
  • Oversee restroom areas throughout the day.
  • Report any maintenance issues to the relevant personnel.
  • Conduct patrols across school facilities, walking up to 10,000 steps daily to deter unauthorized access, theft, or vandalism.
  • Stand for extended periods, up to four hours daily.
  • Serve as the first responder in emergencies.
  • Post at secondary locations as necessary.
  • Identify and report any suspicious behavior.
  • Foster positive relationships with both staff and students.
  • Manage access control and monitor surveillance systems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years' experience as an armed security officer.
  • At least three years' experience in a school security role.
  • Possession of a valid PA Act 235 Certification.
  • Valid PA Concealed Carry Permit required.
  • Must own a firearm.
  • Ability to pass a firearms qualification course.
  • Capable of performing well under pressure.
  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Willingness to undergo a drug screening and criminal background check.
  • Consent to obtain necessary clearances for school employment.
  • No felony or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude.
  • Reliable communication means (active cell phone with mobile email access).
  • Proficient in English (verbal and written).
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • Must exhibit a professional and courteous demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four years of experience as a sworn police officer (municipal, state, or federal) or military police, military administration, Air Force Security Forces, or corrections officer.
  • Valid driver's license.
