Mortgage Servicing Collector Job Description

At America First Credit Union, we are seeking a highly skilled Mortgage Servicing Collector to join our team. As a Mortgage Servicing Collector, you will be responsible for performing collection activities on delinquent first mortgage loans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collection Activities: Follow up on problem accounts from preliminary phone calls through foreclosure as necessary, reviewing delinquent accounts, determining probable reasons for account status, and contacting members to resolve delinquencies.
  • Communication: Utilize various techniques to promptly collect funds, assist with collection activities performed by other department personnel, and provide support and assistance to area personnel.
  • Professional Image: Maintain the Credit Union's professional image in all contacts with members, ensuring that all interactions are professional and courteous.
  • Documentation: Document all collection actions taken, including telephone conversations, alternative financial arrangements, and correspondence.
  • Compliance: Perform collections efforts in accordance with Credit Union and secondary market investor policies and procedures, ensuring legal compliance.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience: Office experience, preferably with a full-service financial institution, and previous collection experience is preferred.
  • Skills: Good math and accounting abilities, well-organized and attentive to detail, accuracy and thoroughness in work, excellent communication, telephone, and public relations skills, professional appearance, dress, and attitude, ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment, and ability to handle stressful situations.
