Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Clerk II-Field Opns at Estes Express. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, coordinating freight movements, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Answer telephones with a high call volume, direct calls with accuracy, and respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Freight Coordination: Maintain count lists of items received or shipped, check against bill of lading, and record any discrepancies.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records to report all freight issues on a daily or weekly basis to terminal management.
  • Communication: Contact customers to coordinate delivery times, schedule appointments for freight delivery, and respond to customer complaints.
  • Problem Solving: Investigate, resolve, and respond to inquiries from customers regarding overages, shortages, and damaged freight issues.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Experience: Experience in billing, collections, tracing, and operations preferred.
  • Skills: Proficient in MS Word and Excel, strong customer service skills, good clerical skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift approximately 20 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job.
