Position Overview: We are seeking motivated individuals for the role of HVAC Technician. This position is ideal for those looking to develop their skills in a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in an HVAC apprenticeship program, which includes both educational and practical training—expenses covered by the employer.
  • Conduct repairs and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including:
    • Monitoring system gauges and making necessary adjustments.
    • Assembling system components through various methods such as screwing, bolting, and welding.
    • Lubricating mechanical parts, including fans and motors.
    • Installing electrical wiring.
    • Cutting, threading, and connecting piping.
  • Diagnose system issues and collaborate with users to identify problems.
  • Utilize a computerized maintenance management system for tracking work orders.
  • Prepare necessary documentation and reports.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read and write in English; familiarity with blueprints and technical documents is a plus.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including fractions, percentages, and simple algebra.
  • Previous experience in trades or related fields is preferred.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, and air compressors is advantageous.
  • Understanding of OSHA regulations, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out and HAZCOM guidelines is beneficial.

Work Environment:

  • Work will be conducted in various indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Ability to work at heights exceeding 15 feet.
  • Exposure to noise levels above 80 dBA.
  • Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds and prolonged standing or walking.
  • Must be capable of bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, stooping, squatting, lifting, crawling, and climbing.
  • Good vision is necessary, including the ability to see at various distances and distinguish colors.
