About the Role

Cummins is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team in Columbus, IN. As a key member of our Emissions Measurement Laboratory, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our test results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Builds, repairs, and prepares articles for testing and associated auxiliary equipment.
  • Installs test article into test structure (test cell, table, rig, etc.).
  • Performs tests in accordance with set test methods.
  • Consistently provides accurate and reliable test results.
  • Configures and operates data acquisition systems; analyzes and reviews data for appropriateness.
  • Performs test stand installation, troubleshooting, and setups and the upkeep and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Provides support/recommendations to engineering for equipment supplier evaluation and qualification, equipment and facility updates, and instrument specification.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • A regionally applicable Certification (e.g. US Department of Labor) or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college program in a relevant field of study.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Ability to work 3x12 weekend shift: 3 weeks per month (Friday-Sunday), working 12 hours per shift (7:00pm-7:00am).
