Role Summary:

The Senior Mechanical Engineering Lead will be responsible for overseeing the design and detailed engineering of various mechanical systems and equipment. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas, Fertilizer, and Chemical industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and engineering efforts for static and rotary equipment, ensuring compliance with international standards and project specifications.
  • Possess a robust understanding of relevant design codes, including ASME Sec. VIII- Div.1 and TEMA.
  • Manage the execution of oil and gas projects, ensuring alignment with technical requirements and specifications.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of technical specifications and datasheets, facilitating vendor document assessments.
  • Guide the project team through all phases of design and construction, adapting designs to meet budgetary and client needs.
  • Oversee the mechanical design process from initial concept through to completion, ensuring all project requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors, reviewing drawings and documentation to ensure compliance with project standards.
  • Interface with various engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive project design and effective data management.
  • Engage directly with clients, providing leadership and direction to project team members.
  • Travel to project sites as necessary to gather information and support field activities.
  • Prepare and review mechanical engineering deliverables, ensuring quality and compliance before client submission.
  • Review piping isometrics to confirm constructability and adherence to project specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E. or B.Tech) is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 10-15 years of professional experience in detailed engineering of static equipment.
  • In-depth knowledge of design codes, including ASME Section VIII, Div. 1, TEMA, and familiarity with European codes is advantageous.
  • Proficient in design software such as PV Elite and Compress.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead and resolve technical issues within a global team.
  • Experience in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) is preferred.
