Job Summary

Sinclair Broadcast Group's Capitol Hill bureau is seeking a skilled News Video Editor to join our team. As a creative visual storyteller, you will be responsible for editing video content for broadcast and digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Edit video content for broadcast and digital platforms
  • Implement creative graphics and visual effects
  • Work efficiently under deadline pressure
  • Collaborate with producers and reporters to develop story ideas
  • Conduct research to gather information and resources
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of news events and current affairs
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices
Requirements
  • At least three (3) years of video editing experience
  • Experience editing broadcast news packages under daily deadlines
  • Proficiency in non-linear editing systems such as AVID, Adobe Premiere, or Final Cut Pro
  • Basic graphics skills
  • Strong interest in news and current affairs
  • Ability to work under deadline and on a flexible schedule
  • Technical knowledge of editing and video equipment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a fast-paced news environment
  • Knowledge of video production software and equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
