Job Summary

As a Catering Captain with Compass Group USA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our catering operations. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate catering staff schedules to guarantee timely delivery, service, and clearance of functions. You will also prepare and serve food at scheduled events under the supervision of the Catering Director. Additionally, you may be required to drive a truck to deliver food and beverages to catered functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Determine workload requirements from catering orders and meet with function group leaders to discuss setup arrangements, addressing last-minute changes and resolving problems.
  • Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a service-oriented manner, demonstrating a complete understanding of menu items.
  • Instruct staff on work expectations for catered functions, helping them set up rooms to desired specifications.
  • Assemble and deliver food and supplies to scheduled locations, serving food and beverages to guests.
  • Return food, beverages, serving equipment, and utensils to the catering facility, ensuring proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures, following HACCP standards.
  • Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils, ensuring proper food preparation by following approved recipes and production standards.
Qualifications

A valid driver's license may be required. You must possess or be able to obtain a valid food handler's permit and/or alcohol servers permit where required by state law.
